Our current congregation stands in a long line of Free Methodists in Brantford who have sought to be faithful to God’s leading through open doors. Jesus continues to place open doors before us today (Rev.3:8). We seek only to be faithful.
  • Lead Pastor

Shawn came on staff at the end of 2023 after a season of being our interim pastor. He brings with him more than 20 years of pastoral experience in a wide variety of contexts. Shawn’s desire is to see people grow in their faith and see new people come to love Jesus. He is also serving as executive director at Friendship House (a ministry to the street community of Brantford).

With 20 years of ministry experience, she is deeply committed to preaching the Gospel and equipping congregants to live out their faith in their everyday lives.

Bobbie-Jo holds a degree from Redeemer University and is currently pursuing her Master of Divinity, which has provided her with a solid foundation for theological understanding and pastoral care. She believes in the transformative power of Scripture and strives to make its teachings accessible and applicable to all.

Throughout her ministry, Bobbie-Jo has focused on community outreach, specifically serving the locally unhoused population, individuals in addiction, families, and struggling youth, all while raising her own seven children. She believes that the church should be a beacon of hope and service in the community. Bobbie-Jo has led various initiatives, including the Remnant House food programming and outreach, aimed at bringing people together and sharing God’s love.

Known for her approachable nature and passion for pastoral care, Bobbie-Jo enjoys building relationships with congregants and guiding them through life’s challenges and joys. She is particularly committed to supporting families, young adults, and individuals in addiction, ensuring that everyone feels valued and supported.

Outside of the church, Bobbie-Jo enjoys spending time with her family, strength training at the gym, riding motorcycles, and reading. These activities help her foster a balanced life and deepen her connection with God’s creation.

Bobbie-Jo looks forward to walking alongside the congregation at The Open Door as they grow in faith together and strive to make a positive impact in the community.
